In Febuary 1986 the Port Orange Historical Trust was organized and officers elected. They are: Elizabeth Knapp, president; Joyce Haller, vice president; Dewey Braun, treasurer; Nancy Fedor, secretary; and Jim and Ralph Stevenson, historians.
The board of directors is Dorothy Price, Pricilla and Harold Cardwell, Bonnie and Wilbur Haller, Helen and Frank Osborne, Agnes Dunbar, Virginia and Rufus Jackson, Don Sumner and Elmer McDonald. The mission of the trust is to preserve and protect the historical, cultural and natural resources of the Port Orange area and to promote the development and use of these resources for the benefit and improvement of the community. To this end, the trust will support, when practical, the aims of other organizations that support this objective. |
